I've noticed that Beo5 remotes can come up quite cheap on eBay here and there. I've never owned one; I have a Beolink 1000 and a Beo4, but my Beo4 has developed an issue with the display, so rather than replace it with another Beo4, I thought I might consider the Beo5 (or I suppose the later Beo6, if one comes up).
I know however that the Beo5 needs to be programmed because B&O expected you to get one of their engineers in the reprogram it if you got a new device (because of course they did). I have found that the configuration tool for PC for Beo5 or 6 is available for download - has anyone ever used it? How can anyone tell me how easy it is to program a Beo5 or 6 using this?
I would want to program the Beo5 to control my Beocenter 8000 (with Beogram 8500 turntable connected) Beovision 8-40 TV, and potential future purchases of B&O products from the 90 or early 00s if I see any I like!
