I am brand new to B&O as of yesterday.  Bought a Beovision Avant US (8490) on FB.  Got it home and at first things seemed to be going fine.  Remote worked and I was able to change the stand orientations when on and off, etc.  But then the remote started just acting strange.  Some buttons didn't work, sometimes it didn't work at all, etc.  I replaced batteries and since it has just been all over the place. The remote is the one with V Tape, Record, A Tape, and the AV button. Where I'm at right now is: volume up doesn't work(even though I can see the IR led firing through my phone camera), and when I go to the menu on the TV, the Go button doesn't work(can see the IR firing). If I open menu I can hit 7 to get to the External Sources, but I can't make any changes(and I can't get my component input to work) I have read that I may need to change the mode on the remote.   If I hit standby+list I get only 3 options: Add? Option? Remove?  All of the documentation seems to say there is supposed to be a Config? option as well. Hitting go in Option gives me: V. Opt, A. Opt, and L. Opt.  I can't hit go on any of these, so I have tried 0, 1, 2, 3, etc as different control inputs after selecting V. Opt. None of these change anything. Do I just have a bad remote?  Should I buy a newer version?  Will a newer version(example one with DVD button) work with my TV? This TV looks amazing from what tiny little bit I can get working on it..... but so far it is just requiring black magic to get it to work.
