Why did they release an ugly bulky stand? The original looks way better. Also, the black of the 9000c looks cheap, like a Sony counterfeit of the original!

I don't like that stand at all. That doughnut base is ugly. I much prefer the original brushed aluminium, elegant stand. But it's great that they have reintroduced this classic CD player.

I'll have to see it in the flesh, but as a colour scheme its too monochrome for me. Guessing they were trying to be faithful to the aesthetic of the late 80s - mid 90s, with lots of black and silver. But not sure I'd want this colour scheme chez moi.

I think they are so definitive that they are hard to improve or update. Bot even nowadays polished aluminium is far more interesting to eyes than black IMHO.

I will also need to see it in the flesh. I've lost count of the number of times I've been a bit sniffy about a new B&O product's picture, only to completely fall in love with it when I see the real thing!

I got rid of all my CDs about 15 years ago and I'm not going down that route again!!! Will stick with my 4000 as my sole vintage player.

Just in London today, had a look at the BeoSystem 9000c. Images don’t look as good, much better in person.
