Connecting BeoSound 9000 to BeoVision 11 problem
5 replies
I have just traded my BeoVision 10 for a BeoVision 11 and the latter lacks a Masterlink connection. I have daisychained my BeoSound 9000 to my BeoLab 8000 speakers via the BeoVision.
When the TV plays, it all works perfectly. But when I turn on my BeoSound, there is a high pitch sound coming from the speakers.
How can I solve this?
Any help is appreciated
Hi and welcome to Beoworld!
Effectively you have two devices connected directly to your Beolabs, which you shouldn't do - for reasons that you have discovered, but you could also cause damage!
You have at least two options:

I agree with guy that the two proposed solutions are the most user friendly options.

I would just like to mentions that there are other products like that. For example the brand Almando has similar solutions which can switch between even more inputs so you can add a music streamer like Sonos Port, Airport express, Chromecast Audio or whatever you wish.Location: Denmark
Dear Guy and Madskip,
thank you for your feedback. When you mentioned the Almando I remembered that I do have such a device installed to connect my Apple Airplay to the BeoLab speakers. Since that is a SPIF connection I realised that I should have one PowerLink input port available. And so it was. I connected the BeoSound to the Almando and it works like a charm.
Again thank you both for the prompt replies
Cheers

Great to hear that it was so relatively easy to solve the issue 😀
my Almando switch only have the 2 Powerlink inputs which is fine in my setup, but great that yours had an extra input
