Hey folks, I have a MMC 20EN with an intact stylus but it produces no output.  I would like to measure its coil resistance but don't have that 1/2" adapter with external terminals that make it easy to test. So I thought I could measure where the unbelievably thin tonearm leads are soldered to the junction plate with the external RCA cable leads instead.  If I measure from the red wire to the RCA cable ground I get an unstable reading of about .3 ohms.  Same thing when measuring from the white wire to ground.  Is this not a good place to get a resistance reading from the cartridge coils?  Or is my cartridge perfectly dead? I tried the same test with a MMC 20E that has no stylus and got the same result.  So do I have two dead cartridges? Also, those very thin tonearm wires don't appear to be insulated but they must be, right?  I mean, they are all touching each other but I find no conductivity between them when I check.  Very strange - and amazing! Bottom line: do I need to find a 1/2" adapter in order to properly test for coil resistance? Thanks in advance for any info and advice! Pat
