BeoVision Horizon 40—unrepairable?! Seriously?!

Hi, I own a BeoVision Horizon 40, purchased in 2019, which has been experiencing increasing startup issues. Currently, I need to perform a mains reset every time I turn it on; otherwise, I am left with either a black screen or no sound. In any case, it takes 5 to 10 minutes before anything appears on the screen. I reached out to the B&O repair station in Paris, and they informed me that the motherboard is defective and needs replacing. However, B&O no longer supplies this part, meaning the TV is essentially unusable. Can anyone confirm this information?
The motherboard can be returned to the factory for repair. The repair partner should do this. A couple of options before getting the repair done, you could try Clear application cache, this can sometimes help. Factory reset - This will stop you being able to login to google or any apps if they are still used.

Bang & Olufsen classic service centre. Repairs and refurbishment to both old and new.
I don't know which dealer you talked to, but aftersale services in Paris are a calamity: you often have to fight with them to get spare parts or repairs. They rather like sell you a new set or a pair of headphones but couldn't care less of your history or private collection they don't even know the products. Basically most of the historical dealers get bankrupt (and they were mad at B&O for this) and have been replaced buy young seller who work for B&O this year, Any car compagny last year and certainly The Kooples next… When I was looking for foams for my 8000's, I had to insist a lot but in the end B&O St-Germain were able to get the parts. I think they are After Sales authorized, which insn't the case with all dealers. Good luck, I love the Horizon.

I finally managed to get some help from B&O Support, who confirmed that a replacement motherboard for the Horizon can be ordered by the repair station. BUT (there’s always a but…), I have to bring the TV to the repair station. They will remove the motherboard, send it back to B&O, and only then will B&O send a replacement to the repair station. Once the new board is installed, I can pick up the TV. In the past, the repair station could simply order the part, come to my home, and replace it on-site. Premium brand, disappointing service and support — what more can I say?
They finally managed to come and get the TV (not for free!). Indeed, there is a shortage of motherboards for the Horizon. They will send it for repair. I'm wondering what a repaired motherboard is worth in terms of reliability vs a new one...
Glad you managed to find a solution. Unfortunately collection of items and their repair cannot be free when its out of warranty, the repair company does need to make a living 😅
Indeed glad you find the solution. Unfortunately this happens. Had also a faulty mainboard in my Horizon two years ago. Replaced it myself and bring back the faulty to the dealer to send back. Since then a solid tv.

The mainboard was repaired and the Horizon now works fine. Hope it will last.
Hi, first post... I had to make it! I have a "pre-loved" 40" Horizon. After a reasonably smooth start-up all was well. After awhile "things" started becoming unstable. Unstable meaning - frequent Android restarts, loss of Remote, jittery video from Amazon Fire. Plus more spurious happenings, the detail of which have passed in the mists of time! Although not the initial purchaser B&O service were good enough to deal with me as far as PUC files for attached devices. Thereafter they simply diagnosed the problems as some electronics failures and said TV needs returning for "possible" repair, otherwise it is unrepairable. I simply disconnected the internet. No further problems (other than no Amazon... not an issue). The continuing shortcoming is sound quality.... having replaced our 20 yo BeoVision 3-28 with the Horizon the sound is awful, looking to add a soundbar (a damming statement for a B&O engineered audio system). I hope this adds to Horizon owners experience base.
