Beocenter 7700 problem: no output on one side

Hi guys, I recently bought a Beocenter 7700 (again 😅) and am restoring it to the best form i can get it in. It has a problem though, i’m hoping maybe some of you can shine some light on it: On all sources (radio, tape and phono) it only has full output on the left channel, the right has almost no output at all. Almost, because when i only plug the right output there is very low output (good quality sound also). Fader is centered, when sliding it to the far right, there is nothing at all. Problem is on both speaker group 1 and 2. Also tested the speakercables and speakers, they are okay (i run my 7007 on them). I opend the 7700 up and took an look around for a bit (i am not a electronics tech, I globaly understand what parts and PCB is for what and I could solder a bad connection, and that’s it, really.) I did spot traces of previous repairs (the late preveous owner had it repared at the shop a few times of which i have the receipts, including the original purchase receipt from december 1982😀). I did find a lose wire that i could retrace to the AM part of the back socked panel on which there has been some adjustments/repairs. I also spotted a missing wire on a larger connector. Could that be the problem? I did plug the speakers directly to the internal speaker cables to have the same results as described before. There is about 15% of the output on the left channel. That’s it. Anyone has any thoughts of what could be wrong? I do own a full service manual with diagrams for reference btw.
  • Also I am from the Netherlands, maybe someone knows a good technician who could fix it for me?
Hi Mark, you could contact BeoBuddy (forum member) for repairs. He is located in Utrecht, he has been helping me with repairs quite a few times, all successfully.

Hi, Maybe worth checking the A.AUX jumper plug? Continuity may be broken on one side.

Thank you for the tip, I will check that out. I’ll let you know.
