Beocom 2 does not boot

Hi all, my Beocom 2 boots with following display messages:
  1. B&O
  2. No contact with base
  3. Off...
It takes only 8-10 seconds. After that is the phone dead... I use a full charged new FDK (Sanyo) battery pack. If I disconnected the battery after the first boot, wait some seconds and connected again, it boots only with B&O screen and the phone is dead. Does anyone know these issue? Thanks, maarts
I had this issue and it was cured by a new battery pack. However, if your battery pack is new, you could check these points out:
  • Check the connections between battery pack and phone
  • Check the connection between bottom of phone and charging base - I also experienced a fault here as one of the two pins in the charger had been somehow pushed into the base housing and made no longer contact with the phone
  • If you have different charging bases, try them all with this phone
  • Maybe the new battery pack is defective - you may try the battery pack of another BC 2 or a spare battery pack
  • If you leave the phone for a long(er) time on the base station, does anything change or happen?
Kind regards, Rolf

Hi Rolf, thanks for your reply! I suspected the battery and therefore replaced it. The new battery was empty and by connecting it, I was able to measure the charging. So I can say that the charging circuit and charging the battery is working. I let the battery charge overnight, but the phone is dead. Only completely disconnecting it from the power (battery and charging station) and then connecting it to the battery again, can boot it as described above. The same happens with another battery. Are there any other tips? Thanks, maarts
Hi Maarts, sorry to hear that. Most of the time a healthy battery will do the trick, but sometimes it´s some other defect. Apart from battery replacement, the BC 2 are non-repairable outside B&O to my knowledge. However, there is a Video, showing how to disassemble the phone (the link leads to part 1 of 4):
