Hi, I'm in Spain and I have just resurrected my dead BeoCom5 with a battery (900mAh 3160585) from Subtel E.S. (info@subtel.es) for the princely sum of €13,90 all in.  I went with these instructions that some kind person had posted previously, but slightly amended through my own experience : 1) The bottom bezel with the B&O name can be pushed up, you need a small flat plastic tool to unglue it. 2) Below that bezel, there is another flat bezel that also needs to be pushed up, again a small flat plastic tool can do it 3) On each side there are two small T6 screws that need to be removed 4) You need to lift the keypad but to do so you need to extend a bit each side of the phone to unlock the latches both in the middle of the phone and at the top (I did this with my thumbnails whilst lifting the keyboard from the bottom end with a small-bladed screwdriver) 5) The battery needs to be unplugged and forcibly unglued (not difficult). Do not fully detach the keypad as the speaker is connected and another cable, just lift it a little, enough to access the battery (at this point I slid out the microphone to open the keyboard to unit further, to gain better purchase to remove the battery). 6) I used double-sided tape to re-fix the new battery and reversed the entire process above - took me about 15 minutes total: net result - like a new phone - delighted!

Just wanted to say thanks for this - just followed the instructions to the letter, and exchanged the battery in my Beocom 5.  I worked first time.
