Beocord 5500 standby only

I am new to this forum and hope to get some assistance. I have a Beocord 5500 which  remains in standby after connecting it to the mains. I was able to get some schematics of this model and - after grounding R9 of the power supply - the unit's front panel lights up, the tape briefly spins but the interface unit does not accept any commands. Then it returns to standby. I replaced the two front microswitches (for Drawer and Play) which were bad. Is this a common issue with this model ? Any suggestions? Thanks

I want to correct my previous mail: After the unit is connected to mains, the drawer slides back in and the tape take up reel spins for about 2 seconds. After that, one can hear the drawer motor running for a few seconds again (although the drawer is all in) and the take up reel is spins again. There are three cycles of that before the unit stops. The capstan motor and the two capstans are running all the time. How does the control circuit know that the drawer is in or out? I could not find a mechanical microswitch for that. I am wondering because the drawer motor keeps trying to close the drawer although it is already all the way in.
