I decided to repair my dad's old Beocord 8004 that's been sitting in the garage for the longest time. Cosmetically it's in great shape.
when I put a tape in and press play, the tape head engages for a second and snaps back right away. here is a .
I'm planning to disassemble it and look inside to see if it's just a belt issue or not.
is there a way to test the motor before I take this thing apart?
if the motor has gone bad, are these motor parts easy to source now days? I'm assuming belts are still obtainable.

Belts.
Idler rubber parts.
Cleaning, lubrication.
