Beogram / Beosystem 3000C

Hi everybody, I just heard about the new BEOSYSTEM 3000C. It looks great! My question: Does this recreated classic mean that B&O will produce and sell again cartridges for their turntables? I am asking because my Beogram 6500 urgently needs a new one. Or do we still have to order from SoundSmith in the USA? Marc

I really doubt it and actually am quite appalled. Here they are offering a limited edition $30K system and only supplying an MMC4 cartridge! As an alternative to Soundsmith (which I have used) there is turntableneedles.com that advertises new MMC cartridges.
I cannot recommend turntable needles.com as I have no experience with them. Any of the MMC cartridges will work with your table; however, if it was me, I'd go with the SMMC3 from Soundsmith. B&O used them for the release of the Beogram 4000C  using an SMMC20CL. This gets you the nude hyper-elliptical diamond where the 4 is a bonded diamond.
Thank you Mark for your reply. My question was rather if I should get the SMMC2 which costs the double of the SMMC3... I think that I will purchase the SMMC3. However I will have to repair my Beogram 6500 first because a frame fell from the wall right onto my turntable some time ago... :( The Beogram cover has not been damaged, but the tangential arm no longer moves sideways. I hope that nothing is broken. 🫰 I will have to dismantle the turntable to check that and I may have to come back with questions about this...

For your system, going to the SMMC2 would be well along the diminishing curve with the rest of your system. The SMMC3 is the sweet spot.
Thank you Mark for your reply! I will probably follow your advice, especially as I am about to purchase a Rotel power amp to help my Beogram which is sometimes not powerful enough to drive my 4Ω loudspeakers. An amp that I have offered a couple of years ago to my brother who has nothing but praise for it!
