Hi! I am restoring a Beogram 1202. One question; Is it normal that the gap between pickup and record are so small? If not, how do I adjust the gap?

While it is not the best angle to examine, it does look like the tracking force is too heavy or the stylus's suspension is shot and needs replacement. If it's an SP-10 or 12 it should be 1.2 grams.

a little more information:
I just had a look at the service manual for the Beogram 1202 and 3000. The recommended tracking force stated there is:
- Beogram 1202 with an SP 14 A pickup: 2.0 g equivalent
- Beogram 3000 with an SP 10 A pickup: 1.2 g equivalent

Thanks Geoff! I will take a look at the pickup. I did set it to 2g, but I am not sure if it is SP10 or SP14. I tried to adjust the three screws for the platter-hight, but if I lower the platter, the pickup-arm stand also lowers. So the gap are constant.
