I have an old Beogram 2000 5821 record player, it seems to work fine and I have already done some replacements (SMMC 4 cartridge and a new tone arm, as well as a new counter balance). How ever something doesn’t seem to be working right when it comes to anti skating and or the counter balance weight.  Firstly, many records skip back by one groove when playing and I often get distortion (usually on the left channel). Furthermore, I find it very difficult to find the point of balance with my tone arm as the range of motion is very limited while playing. After a few failed ideas, I tried stacking two records on top of one another because I noticed that the tone arm, while it does reach the record in the normal weight, increases in  resistance the further down the tone arm is placed. Stacking two records seemed to make the issues less noticeable. When looking at the arm mechanism, I noticed that the plastic box (in which the end of the tone arm is placed in order to lift it) moves away in a very weird way. I have replaced the tone arm myself and the box it where it sort of landed which is why I left it in there. Does anyone know how it is supposed to look? (picture 1 is in idle, picture 2 is playing)
