when starting playing, the turntable speed is some times much too high. I then have to stop and bring the turntable to complete stop, and then start again. Then normally it runs the correct speed.
i did not measure the speed, but it could very well be double speed, so I wonder if the motor control is some times synchronising on the second harmonic of the signal from the tacho?
I only play 33 1/3, so I do not know if it also can occur at 45.
does anybody have a hint?
Thanks

Beogram 2402. Turntable speed issue

The belt is slipping, allowing the motor to accellerate and lock to twice the set speed.
Replace the belt.
