Anyone know where I can get a service manual for the Beogram 3000, Type 5231? I have looked through this forum and other places online and no link has resulted in the correct version of this turntable. I need to service the motor, and I can't order bearings from Beoparts until I know if I need to. I have a set new bearings for the 3mm spindle, but I see these models can also have the 4.5mm bearings. From what I can see from the top (platter removed), the motor appears to be the same as a 1900 motor I have. I have a new platter belt and the motor works, but has a knocking sound, which I assume is bearing related. Aside from finding the manual, I'm sure someone can tell me what the trick is to pull the subplatter off. I turned to see if there was any locking mechanism, and a variety of other "safe" attempts so I don't bust anything. Any help is much appreciated, thanks! Here's a pic. It belongs to a buddy in town. I think he got this for $40. If I get the deck working smoothly, I will probably send the SP12 out for inspection, and rebuild if necessary. I do have the cover as well, and it's in really nice shape. One other thing that is missing is the busted off rubber bumper on one side. It had disintegrated.
