My Beogram 7000 has just developed a serious problem. With a record on the platter when I switch on the Tonearm does not track to the disc but just drops straight down.
What has gone wrong?

It’s possible that the cord and spring that causes the arm to move laterally has become disconnected or broken. You will need to open it up to examine,
