Yes you can use an SP9 which has an elliptical diamond.

But a Contact Line is NOT an Elliptical. You have EITHER a Contact Line, OR an Elliptical.

Yes, absolutely - I have done exactly that for other customers. The early SP6/7 etc stylii fit just fine on a SP12/14 series cartridge, but with a small space, which I fill with a small rubber grommet. It looks just fine.

But I can swap it along with the cartridge by plugging it onto the newer tonarm I asume?

I recently bought a SP10 like on the top of your picture with a broken needle, just to have a spare cartridge for €25. I’m keeping the needle/element for future retipping
