Hi, following a previous issue with my Beocenter 9500 not liking my mix of 8 & 4 ohm speakers, I have bought a pair of Beolab 3 on eBay. I bought a pair of suitable length mk3 cables from AV Solutions Store on eBay too. However, I have plugged in to test and they don't work. If you put them in the L or R switch position, the red light stays on and there is no sound (standby mode I assume). If you put them in Line mode, the lights go to green and very faint music comes out. This doesn't get any louder with the volume being turned up on the Beocenter. This is the same on both speakers, even swapping cables and sockets on the Beocenter. Since I haven't used active speakers on this amp before, it is hard to confirm if the speakers or BC is at fault. Or if I have bought the wrong cables. I think the mk2 cable are only required if you have speakers with displays, like Pentas. I also read something somewhere about different ages of speaker having different standyby wake-up voltage requirements... By the way, I have disconnected the passive speakers from the BC. Could I ask, once again, for some help from you kind people please? edit: I have just bought an adapter lead so I can test the speakers on the aux output of my phone or something, should be with me mid next week.
