Beolab 2 Powers on but no signal
15 replies
I picked up a very beat up Beolab 2, it powers on when plugged in (red LED), but when I plug in the powerlink cable and try to play music, there's no sound (still red LED, does not turn green).
I took it apart and looked at the fuse, it visually appears not blown. That's pretty much all that I know how to do. Any common causes for said symptoms? Would the only thing that I can do be replace the board/sending it somewhere for repair? thanks!

It is not a good idea to plug in power, having a red led and then connecting Powerlink. Can make a big PLOPP and then nothing in the future...
Has it ever worked before, did you see or hear it or bought defect?
I have a multimeter but I don't know how to handle it haha
Have you double checked your powerlink cable, or checked that whatever you have it plugged into is set up for it - or has working powerlink sockets? I only ask as in 20+ years of dealing in B&O I have to say that the BeoLab 2 ranks as one of the most reliable and trouble free pieces of B&O I have ever dealt in... LeeLocation: Eastbourne England
