Beolab Penta Connections

I have a pair of Beolab Pentas from 1986. They are ok apart from they have the 4 pin speaker connections. I am thinking of removing them and replacing with 8 pin Din connectors. The reason being is that the 4 pin connector plugs are impossible to get and 8 pin din leads are easy to find. Has anybody done this? or am I the first. I would love to hear from you.

must be possible to replace the socket and re-solder the wires to the correct terminals on the new din-connector .   Here are the two versions ( mkI vs mkII )
