you might havea aolder software version on your BLW1 units ML to ML on the BLW1 is supported from SW 2.1 This software version was introduced from serial number higher than 19956171. So if your units has a lower serial than that chances are you are on a lower software version. As far as I know the only other way to check and update the software is with a dealer service tool. And if you go for a higher software all wireless units has to be on the same version. Hope this is helpfull

Ah thank you - I didn't know that ML to ML on a Beolink Wireless 1 was on later software only.  Mine are both earlier serial numbers than the one you have given, so I'm sure that's it. It was only really for testing the capability of them anyway.  I'll use them with PL speakers connected instead.

One thing to know is that there can be stability issues as they work on the 2.4Ghz waveband which is also used for WI-FI, Bluetooth, microwave owens, door bells, baby alarms, and probably a lot of other things. So inteference from one or more of the mentioned can happen. Again the servicetool is needed for changing the channel trying to avoid inteference, so not very user friendly on that account.

It definitely does work if you have the correct software versions. I had my 5 Wireless 1's Updated to the most recent software a few years ago. Are you aware that all software versions on the Wireless 1’s have to be the same for them to connect. I made two of these “portable” Beolab 2000s. We use them outside in the summer so we don’t have to have the HiFi blaring to hear the music. Just need to plug them into a power socket and turn on. I made the aluminium handle and bolted it to an original wall bracket which the speaker “hangs” from. There was a space for a small screw to hold it all safely on the bracket. Steve at Sounds Heavenly made very short Masterlink cables so I could connect it all up neatly and just have the power cable showing.  

Yes I think I saw an older post when you mentioned these.  Very creative! I was only testing them out of curiosity really - my best use for them will be with a pair of Powerlink speakers (BL6000), but if I do get the opportunity to get the software updated, I will.

My other 3 Wireless 1's are connected to speakers throughout the house. Beolab 12-3's in our sun room. Beolab 3's in the kitchen and Beolab Penta's (although I haven't got the displays working correctly) It has been a fairly reliable setup but every few months,when I'm listening, the connections are lost randomly around the house (not all speakers at the same time). If I turn them off and back on it seems to reset OK. Good luck with your setup.
