Hello everybody, new user here,
I have an opportunity to buy a Beomaster 8000 at reasonable price. Seller reports that there's no radio reception (at all, but the display shows tuning frequency), some buttons don't work, bass and treble adjustment doesn't work, while the amp works as expected. Also I see some display segments are dead, but I understand it's common and manageable.
I need to travel to see the device, I'd be happy to learn specific tests I can do to minimize risk. I'm not afraid of DIY repair.

Welcome! If the amp works, that’s a good start. Before buying, test all inputs and outputs with speakers or headphones, check which buttons and controls fail, inspect the display, and note that dead segments are common but manageable. The lack of radio reception likely points to tuner or capacitor issues, which are often DIY-fixable. Overall, if you’re comfortable with minor repairs, it could be a worthwhile purchase.
