Beosound 5 Beomaster 5 non BO amp
5 replies
Hello,
New to B&O world as follows:
Beosound5Beomaster 5
Beosound 9000 Mk2
BeoCenter 9500
Penta Mk2
Having some issues running the BS5/BM5 combo through a non BO amp running an 8-din to RCA connector from the BM5 powerlink to the Non-BO amp and on non-BO speakers.
Are there some settings, additional config etc. that I may be missing? Read the user and service manuals and still cannot figure it. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
Anton
Is the cable made / wired for this purpose ?
Or have you bought some 'generic' DIN > RCA cable ?
Hi Anton,
Some B&O products won't give an output from their Powerlink sockets unless they "sense" Beolab speakers connected, in this case an adapter fitted to the other Powerlink socket will get everything working as it mimics the electrical properties of the B&O speakers:-

Kind regards, Steve.

Uhhhh.... Clever little thing :-)
?
Had a cable made at a B&O dealership just for testing purposes.
Will get cables and sense adapter from Steve to test that hypothesis.
