Hi there dear members of Beoworld. I am very new to the forum and actually posting on it so I hope this post is in the right place. As you can see from the title my dear Bm 8000 gave up by sending a big bang through the speakers and a cloud of smoke hanging above the amp..... Ow dear.... I put the amp in service mode and could quickly see that PCB 5 (Right output amplifier board) and PCB 6 (power supply) have blackened burnt capacitors. After the big bang, whilst I was quickly reaching to pull the power cord the display was still fully functioning and my girlfriend was able to turn down the volume. Now my question is what would be my best course of action? What tools would be beneficial to me to do a proper restoration on this unit if that is even possible.
