Beosound 1 Cd issue
13 replies
Hi!
i got a Beosound 1 (old version)
the radio and speakers are working well, but it will not open the cd latch, it makes a sound but nothing is happening, would it mean the door mechanism is broken? Or something else inside the cd player, I have yet to disassemble it, figured id ask beforehand so I know if its worth trying to fix.
Hi Kim and welcome to Beoworld!
You really need to disassemble and investigate, but it should be quite straightforward especially if you have the service manual (available on site to Silver/Gold members). I have three BeoSound 1s and have dismantled all of them to clean and fix various problems with the CD.
The last one that I took apart had a slight problem with the door mechanism, as you will see if you read my posts in the following thread:

hi guy!
ah ok, yes will probably try to take it apart then! seems pretty straight forward and "easy" for a B&O product.
got quoted 230£ for a cd repair here in sweden or if it was the laser they said 1000£ which I obviously wouldnt pay haha
if I can i will send a video maybe on what it sounds like when i press the load button
hi again!
Finally got time to take it apart, and I think I found the issue (at least one for now) and its the small rubber belt that has broken that opens up the hatch. So now is that an easy fix or?
Also, would that be the reason the cd wont play as well? as that belt only seems to be for the actual hatch to open?
Ahh makes sense! I have ordered the cd clamper and will report back when I have installed it , if it works or not!
thanks!
hi! Finally got it to work, took a while to get the cd clamper! but just switched it and it now works!! thanks!
Gonna enjoy this for a long time now!
regards Kim
Great news - thanks for letting us know. It's well worth keeping BS1s in full working order, and it looks very good on your floor stand!
