I've cleaned the unit and replaced the laser on my 9000 and run test mode 71 successful. Most CDs that I place in the unit won't play and when running test mode 73 CD Error code 7 shows which is "Set when a subcode could not be read within the time limit" with no further information available.
Some CDs play perfectly fine and moving them between positions they play fine in any position as well.
Has anyone experienced this before or what further can I troubleshoot or adjust?

I am having the same issue. I replaced my laser as well with an old stock factory B&O part. Is the CD control board that sits in front of the laser turntable at fault?
