Beosound Theater usb-c line-in
7 replies
Hello ladies and gents,
I have connected a hifiberry to the usb-c input of the theatre in order to be able to listen to my Roon collection. The hifiberry is running the beocreate software and it has a dac2 hat. The rca outputs of the hifiberry are connected via a usb-c to 3.5 jack connector to the theatre. Unfortunately I get no sound at all. I tried another usb-c to 3.5 jack adapter but still the issue remains. I tried the hifiberry to a beosuond essence I have and it works fine. I also searched the settings in the app but all i found is the sensitivity regulator.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Anastasios
Hi Anastasios,
Yes, there seem to be a lot of variants of USB-C to analogue audio adapters, if you have a UK shipping address then I can provide this adapter which does work correctly with the Theatre:-

Hello Steve,
unfortunately I don't have a UK shipping address. I have tried the apple adapter but it didn't work. Is there something specific I should pay attention to?
Thanks for the reply
Anastasios
PS Is there any other way I can buy cables from you?
I think (TBC) that we need a passive adapter, meaning without DAC built in. The Apple one is including a DAC. Maybe Steve can clarify this ?
I will have the same issue in a few weeks when my Theatre will be delivered, and I am based outside UK too (BTW Steve, why are you not shipping overseas anymore ??).
I am considering this one that seems to work in analog: https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B076X8W2QR/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3EAOHXRU1PEZY&psc=1
Hello Oli,
probably you are right. The one you are considering states that it is compatible only with the Huawei brand products and it also consumes a small ammount of energy, so I suppose it has some kind of DAC inside...maybe it will not work.
This is the B&O one I ordered from the dealer. Works fine. Can your dealer not order you one?

Hi Anastasios and Oli,
Please accept my apologies for not being able to offer any overseas support or shipping at the moment. I am currently having to take time off work to care for a family member who is unwell and this severely limits the service that I can offer to customers. Please remember that I am just one person and I get well over a hundred enquiries from all over the world each day so unfortunately I cannot ship to everyone. I will be happy to continue supporting UK customers with cables and advice. Thank you for your understanding.
Kind regards Steve
