Essence MK2 not connecting to DLNA server

I have three BeoSound Essence MK2 in the house, and none is able to connect to my DNLA server. Do they need to be in the same VLAN to operate? In my setup, the Essences are in the .30 VLAN and the Synology DNLA server in the .50 VLAN, but there is a route between the two VLANs.
