Hi all
About to install the above tv, it has a tv / cable / satellite card on board, I have used it with a terrestrial antenna and it works here in france, I have also used a satellite box for uk broadcasts via an hdmi socket, I now wonder about about using the 'onboard' satellite facility, do i need a free to air card or can i just connect the lnb to an aerial socket which gives out 5v dc? I always thought lnb's needed around 12v to function.
Sorry if it is a stupidly simple question, I am seeking reassurance before I kick off!

Hi Tony,
If the BV10 is similar to my old Mk1 BV11 with built in sat decoder you just connect your sat dish lnb cable to the sat input socket (which should be present if you have the built in sat module). The tv then does the search/ tuning from your chosen satellite. From recollection the sat module can also control a motorised dish.
(Sadly my Mk1 panel failed, and my replacement Mk3 BV11 lacked the excellent sat/recording modules).

So, have had a look, the terrestrial French digital service aerial is plugged into the dvb socket, however there is a typical satellite system socket also adjacent, I assume that would be for the lnb connection?
Have looked at the Mk1 manual for the tv, there is no reference to this socket, do I assume it is for the lnb connection?
