US MX5500 IR receiver troubleshooting

Working on a US B&O MX5500 this week. Wrapped up a full recap, and got it working, but still having issues with the IR receiver. If I use a Beolink 1000, it will respond, but only if I hold it very very close to the receiver. A Beolink 5000 does not seem to work at all. The board has been recapped, solder reflowed on dry joints, and a crack in the board at the top has been bridged. Is there anything I can do to test this part directly? Thanks for any help!
Ah hah! Hairline crack in the top took out two traces, not just the one. Trace repaired, remotes working properly now.

Good to see people keeping this set working! Were any of the capacitors hard to get, or were they pretty much all available?
