Can I use Beovox Cona with Beovision 7?

I have just got hold of a Beovox Cona for a very low price on eBay (it was local collection, only cost £30 so I thought I might as well). I have a full set of front/rear/centre speakers connected to my Beovision 7, but I don't have a subwoofer.  I know that the BV7 expects an active subwoofer, but I thought I might be able to get it to work with the Beolab Passive amp that I already had, as it was not in use elsewhere. The Beolink Passive amp has a Powerlink socket, but the guide says nothing about it.  I connected the Subwoofer output of my BV7 to the Beolink Passive via Powerlink, then connected the BV Cona to the speaker outputs of the BL Passive amp.  I went into the settings in my BV7 and switched the Subwoofer option to 'Yes' in settings. Nothing is happening though - no sound from the BV Cona.  Does anyone know of a way to get this working?

You will need a fully wired POwerlink cable for the Beolink passive to be activated by the BV7. I actually used a Cona this way for a BV8 and maybe also for a short while with my Beoplay V1, so it is fully possible. Wheether there are some sound wise things like frequensies that is not right I am not able to tell.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'fully wired' Madskp?  I tested it using a Powerlink Mk3 cable.  Would Mk2 cables be what you describe as 'fully wired'?

Yes the MK2 is usually fully wired. For testing you can also use a 7 pin audio aux cable

Ah - I happen to have a 7-pin audio aux cable going spare, so I have connected that, and it's working! I'm not really sure what to expect as I've never owned a dedicated subwoofer before, but you can certainly feel that bass from it. My Beolab Penta Mk3 speakers do suffer a little when playing modern music which has heavy sub-bass - the bass can be a bit distorted and flat, so hopefully with a bit of tinkering with the bass levels, I might be able to get some good bass from the Cona instead.  My Pentas could probably do with a professional service really. Thanks for your help Madskp, as always.
