Dead BeoVox 100 woofer, but continuity trace OK?

I have a pair of (recently refoamed) CX100's, the left woofer of which is not outputting sound. No obvious failure state -- the driver seems suspended evenly, well supported by the surround and not crashed into the side or otherwise damaged. A continuity traces shows a connection between the + and - terminal, so I think it can't be a broken internal connection.  (Swapping in the other woofer results in correct sound!) Any ideas for troubleshooting a woofer in this state?  Thanks!

I would measure the resistance of the good and the bad drivers to ensure they are approximately the same.  Mere continuity could be anywhere between working and a dead short thru the coil or the wires rubbed against the frame, though you probably would have seen the latter. (N.B. Being a bear of very little brain, I hope someone else can suggest something more sophisticated.)
Sure it's not something else? A broken lead or a filter problem? Have you tried swapping with the woofer from the other speaker? Does it make a very tiny click-sound when you connect your ohmmeter across it? Martin
I would check whether there is a short instead of a 4ohm measurement. You would need a multimeter.
Many thanks for these ideas! Upon re-testing both the good and bad speakers, I discovered there is no continuity on the bad one (and thus obviously no ohm measurement.) The known-good woofer both shows continuity, and also reads out 5ohms. Tracing a broken internal wire seems a bit easier than other problems, so I will start with that!
