Beocenter 9300 MUTE function not working
8 replies
Hello dear community,
I'm in the process of restoring a Beocenter 9300 and I'm almost done. Now I've noticed that the "MUTE" function doesn't work. When I press the "MUTE" function on my Beolink 1000 or directly on the BC, I hear a click (a relay picks up, I would say) in the system, but the volume does not go to "MUTE". The volume buttons otherwise work perfectly. Does anyone have an idea what it could be?
Greetings!
Stefan
Hello Stefan,
If you plug headphones in do the speakers mute?

Hi Julian,
thanks for your E-Mail.
No I plugged in my B&O Form 2 Headphones ;-) and the speakers dont mute ifΒ i push the Mute-button but the red Mute-Light switchs on like normal. But the sound in the earphones and loudspeakers is still on.

If you are using passive speakers; are they connected to the Speaker 1 outputs? If they are in Speaker 2 they won't mute (by design).

Excellent point @lausvi

That's because speaker set 1 is meant for local use - in the same room as the Beocenter.
Speaker set 2 is typically routed to linked systems in other rooms, where they are muted locally - and independantly.
