hello all, I have full functioning beocenter 9500 and would like to connect a Dual DT210-1 turntable to it. The connection of the turntable is a standard USB plug. How do I, can I, connect them together?

If your Turntable is this one :

you need a RCA to DIN adapter like this
/api/files/dcc3a916a6e0432ea594ea8f10b08438
to connect the Dual to the Phono input of the Beocenter.
My guess is that the Turntable's switch should be placed on the Phono setting. (check on the user guide).

It is that connection but it also has a USB connector. Can I use that as well?
Just get the RCA-to-DIN cable and plug into the RCA connectors on the turntable. Analog-analog-analog. The switch mentioned above lets you use it with either a Phono input or an Aux input, i.e. it has a built-in, switchable, pre-amp/RIAA. Yes, the turntable does have a USB connector, for its built-in analog-to-digital converter! You would use that to digitise your records, when connected to a computer. But when connecting to the 9500? You would need a DAC to convert that USB *back* to analog! Oh, and the cables mentioned too! Uhh,... No.

It has taken me a lot of time because of personal issues and travels but I have connected the Dual to the Beocenter with the cable that you both mentioned.
Unfortunately, I have to turn up the volume almost fully to get some sound and, of course, with so much volume there is a lot of static on the line. I hear the music but it should be audible with much lower volume and then also clearer. The LP is new, the needle is new, the pick up is new.
Can you be of any more help?

I assume from the earlier posts that you are currently using the BC9500's PHONO input with the turntable's switch set to PHONO.
As an experiment, try using the BC9500's TAPE2 input with the turntable switch set to LINE. Select with TAPE2 on the BC9500 control panel.

Just tried that. The sound is louder and much less static (the last, I guess because the volume does not have to be pumped up as much).
Had the pick up on Line and on the Phono outlet first with the before stated results. Now it is good enough to listen to an LP but still the volume is up much higher then I think it should.
You could try the BC9500's AUX/TV input as well - I think that may be a different level (but could possibly be quieter).
Also, when you were using the BC9500's PHONO input I would expect you to have the turntable's switch set to PHONO also - did you try this?
