Hi, this is my first post and I’m new to the forum. My wife’s friend has the Beogram 2402 and said the arm is skating across the record. She hasn’t used it for some time, has just tried to use it after a number of years and has had it since the mid 80’s. I’ve never owned a B&O but I am familiar with turntables having owned a few in the past such as Linn and Michel, however, electronics and fettling are not my strong point.
I looked at some similar responses to the same problem on this forum so this afternoon I’m going to look at the stylus, check the tracking force by taking it back to zero and re setting it. I believe re lubing the lifting mechanism might help but as it isn’t my turntable I’m reluctant to start taking it apart to access this. If having looked at it I can’t fix it can anyone recommend a reputable company if she wants to get it working again.
Thanks in advance for your responses.
