Beogram TX2, Beogram 3000/5005 and later Beograms

I'm mucking about with an early Beogram 5005, which works fine, apart from not responding to or producing properly formatted Datalink commands.  In looking at the various Beogram service manuals for the 5005, it's pretty clear that the Datalink circuitry underwent a minor change from early-to-later Beogram models in the same family, with the introduction of a transistor between the Datalink I/O channel and the ROM at some point after 1985. That being said, it appears that no less than twelve different models of turntable utilized the same 5005/3000 circuit design, over the span of a decade. This question was asked on this forum years ago but never answered from that I could tell: Does a TX2 board 1, which apparently contains exactly the same hardware as the 5005, contain a ROM that is also programmed to respond to Datalink commands?  Has anyone attempted to solder on a 7-pin din to the TX-2 I/O board pad and see if the turntable responds to Datalink? I'm tempted to find a clapped out TX2 just to try it and see what happens, but I thought I'd pose a question first prior to recreating an experiment that may already have been definitively answered by others.

Nice build, adyan! Just for my knowledge: you added a Din-7 cable to your TX-2 and soldered pin 7 (or pin 6, depending on your RIAA setup with your receiver) directly to pad 6 on board 11, and Datalink started working without further modification? This would be what I'd surmise was a possible outcome, I just haven't seen anyone post that it worked and was this straightforward.  Can you also share which version if TX-2 main board you were using?  There are at least 2 iterations, as shown below.  Early board types have no transistor in the data path, and later boards added the transistor. Best!    
As with the original RIAA the datalink from the 7pin din connects to the RIAA board and than goes directly to the pad on pcb11. So yes datalink pin is directly connected to pcb11. Not sure about the transistor, as I only had the manual for the "later" board I never checked this. The TX2 is to my knowledge the last from the 59xx series, so I would think it has the latest version of the board.
