- Hello to everyone. Recently I bought a second hand Beosound Ouverture with problem with the CD. The version is with CDM12 mechanism. When the disc is inserted it starts spinning without stopping, but on the display stay only CD and don’t start any track. I start reading here in the forum all topics with similar issues. This is what I do for the moment:

I am not sure whether you have the service manual (avail on Beoworld to Silver and Gold Members), but the following extract may well explain the extra resistor and capacitor (Edit - possibly/probably another resistor?), and can I see a surface mounted diode (green LED?) in the second picture? Is pin 6 of 8IC1 still short circuited to ground? If so you may wish to revert and try again.

Thanks for the reply Guy, but unfortunately mine is with CDM12 ( new version) and I don’t have pcb 8. I have pcb89, which is on the place of pcb8, but very different schematic. I have all of the service manuals. On that pcb89, I’ve checked the transistors, voltages and cable slots for connectivity. Everything looks fine. I will attach a photo of that board in case you want to see it. Also i will add a photo of the laser to tell me if this kind of light is normal.

Ah yes, sorry I can see that now when I read the whole manual!
B&O has had a habit in the past of making late modifications to PCBs by adding such components, but I doubt that they would do so for such a relatively modern element that should work as designed.
My most relevant CD repair experience is all detailed in this thread, but the CD on my BC2300 was CD Pro rather than CDM12:

<p style="padding-left: 40px;">I read all the threads in this forum and many others 😁. Maybe I have a progress today. I read a thread for CDM12 lasers and found that laser diode can be partially detached and clean. When I open mine today, I found some kind of spot on the glass (not sure what real material is) and I think that is like a little burnt out (I will attached a photos). Maybe this will be the reason not start playing. I already order a new laser and when it arrives I will change it and hopefully resolve the issue. Thanks again for your support.</p>
Yes that does look strange, but if there is a problem I am surprised that it passes all the Test Modes.
I look forward to hearing whether a new laser cures the fault. Fingers crossed!
