I had Beovision 8-40 master to BC2 connected to a pair each of 8000’s (front speakers) and a pair of 6000’s (rear speakers) and BL19 subwoofer, and link room with BS9000 and 4000 speakers.
My TV is now defunct and so I am trying to make the BC2 the master incorporating a Sumsung Serif TV.
The BC2 only has one Powerlink so I think I need to connect the Sub with RJ45 to Din on Socket box then RJ45 out on the sub to a splitter to run the pair of BL 8000’s (that don’t daisy chain). I can get rid of the rear speakers as there will be no surround from the BC2.
Does this sound the way to go?
I am thinking of getting a SCART (socketbox) to HDMI (TV) converter to connect the TV but not sure if it will work.
Will it communicate in both directions i.e. TV sound to Socket box and DVD/CD picture and sound to TV?
I look forward to some assistance as my previous system worked for years but with no TV Master I am lost with these new connections.

It is doable (to some extent), but….
……I am pretty sure that you will be disappointed.
On the BC2 there is an AUX-in, which can be used for an analog source.
If you want to get the sound out of the Samsung tv, you will need HDMI/ARC to R/L analog out.
This can then be connected to the AUX-input of the BC2.
There might (or might not) be some sound delay problems there.
Controlling all this will require some clicks (on the Beo4 and on the tv remote)….not really a WAF-thing.
You can - if you use a Scart to HDMI Converter - get the picture and sound from the BC2 to the Samsung.
But you will - in that case - not be able to get the sound back to the BC2 setup.
There will be conflicts controlling that.
This can only be avoided - as you know - using a B&O tv-master.
That makes the difference between a B&O tv solution and a modern tv like the Samsung obvious.
Feel free to experiment, though.
Personally I’d go for a BV10, which will work flawless.
Or a BV11 plus a NL/ML Converter.

Thank you for your advice, I suspected this may be the case. Just out of curiosity is it viable to replace the screen of a BV8-40 screen? The rest of the TV is fine except for the broken screen and the hideous sticky black coating on the frame! If it was financially viable I could go this route. I would be interested in your opinion.

I have never heard of anyone, who has done this - the screen surely won’t be available anymore.
And it would be cheaper to buy another preused BV8-40 instead….
….depending on where you are located.

I also think a second hand BV with Masterlink is the most cost effective, but you will not get very modern screen technology with that.
Did you explore the Neomesteren product offering? This company makes various products to match B&O speakers and remote controls with TVs of other brands. There is no surround sound/masterlink product yet. But maybe it is worthwhile to have a look?
