[Disclaimer mode_on] I think first and foremost every B&O user who uses any add-on or third party/non-approved equipment with do so at there own risk and their own risk assessment. [Disclaimer mode_off]   Next, I have used a lot of these over the years. The problem they have is they burn-out relatively quickly. However, most are now cheap enough it does not matter too much. I have used them for travelling with a business laptop more often than anything else. They are compact, easy to breakdown wire-wise and not only can you charge your laptop.....you can power all your mobile gadgets the modern world has to offer. So with a 100W unit and a 65W power-0draw laptop, my PSU got hot quickly and soon had electronics failure (the PSU - not the laptop) I now use a 320W unit (same size etc) and it appears far more compliant. So I'm guessing its how the solid-state transformer (or whatever it is) takes wall-mains and knocks it down to a low Amp DC voltage for whatever you are powering.
