Hall Audio - closed
11 replies
Sad news - the small danish company HALL AUDIO has closed.
They made and sold the excellent (third party) Wifi Streamer with an HDMI input and had also an ongoing collaboration with Polypv for some interesting ML-products.
I have no idea why they closed and what will become of the collaboration.

On the Beotalk Discord server PolyVection has mentioned that they are still working on some kind of ML streamer product, but have not had a collaboration with Hall Audio since the the unsuccesfull kickstarter for the ML streamer.

How was it different from using an Essence or Core?

Modern tv’s (but not all) have an optical digital output, that can be used with the Core. No modern tv has analog audio output and - for the Essence - you’d have to use a Digital to Analog Converter in addition. However every (modern) tv has a HDMI/(e)ARC socket. That is what is used on the Hall Audio Streamer. It is more reliable, turns on/off with the signal. (That is the port used with soundbars). You simply use the original tv remote. So, the BS Core can be used - however, those, who are willing to spend what that costs, will rather buy the Connect Core instead…. …..a device that B&O waited very (too) long to introduce and that basicly does, what the Hall Streamer does with the addition of being able to work inside the Beolink network/the Mozart platform. The Hall Streamer was very popular - it will surely be missed. Those who are in need of a HDMI/ARC box may have a look on theLocation: Flensborg————Danmark
@Guy
Yes, seems so - I only noticed it recently.
I haven’t had the chance to test it yet, but I am sure, that it will work.
Erland/OneRemote knows what he is doing.

Yes, for many people that will be a better solution than an arc audio extractor followed by something to trigger powerlink. I will try to remember to suggest as an option when answering forum questions.

My B&O Icons:
I use - for an older Philips 32” tv in a guestroom - an ARC Extractor with an Essence MK2 (line-in) and a set of BL3.
Works, but volume control is a bit fiddly.
The tv volume has to be set high…..if I want it louder, I have to use the Essence Remote (or the app).
I assume, that it would have worked smoother with the Hall Audio Streamer or the OneRemote-box with the BL3’s directly connected.
But I wanted the Essence (and Beolink multiroom) in the mix.
That’ll do for now!
If I could get my hands on a V1-32 at a reasonable price, I’d probably replace the current solution.

The ‘fixed sound level’ is not an option to me…..
….since I also want to use the sources of the Essence (in addition to the audio from the tv).
