Playmaker mk. 1 configuration issues

Dear Forum. I recently bought a used Playmaker to see if it was worth while in 2025. From what I understand it is a mk. 1. I have cabled it to my lan-switch and the colour on the playmaker is solid white. So there should be an internet connecting. But how do I configure the Playmaker when it does not appear in the B&O app, Google Home app or Apple Home app. I have tried to go to http://169.254.11.22 on my phone, but the server is not available. I have also tried to reset the damn thing. All Your help would be much appreciated!

I do no think it is possible to configure it through a app any longer. You might need to factory reset it to be able to acces the IP adress in a browser as it has probably been used with another IP where it was setup before. The factory reset procedure can be found in the manual here

Recently I took out my old Playmaker, that i used quite a lot in the yesteryears. The configuration was flawless - no problem. I also have another, that I bought years ago and never used - trying to configure that was no success. After spending a couple of hours, I gave up - but I will try again, once I have some spare time. So - you see - it can be triggy 😒 Will report back, if I have new findings. MM

I've heard a lot of people complain about the playmaker over the years? What exactly is bad about it?

Hi guys. Thanks for your input. Somehow the Playmaker showed up as an AirPlay device. I managed to get sound out of my Beolab 7-1. But as mentioned in this thread the Playmaker is not Multiroom material. The Beosound Essence MK II is far superior in that way.

Happy easter, I'm also having trouble to set up old Playmakers. The B&O app shows it, and as soon as I try to enter setup it just crahes. BUT: The units itself are hardwired onto our home network and they just work flawless within the DLNA network. We are using an old App from korean high end brand Astell & Kern and from there I can use ALL of my compatible B&O equipment with our DLNA audio server and play to them.
I just tried to do a factory reset of my MK2 Playmaker to refresh my memory of the setup proces. Initially I tried to use the B&O app for setup. But if I add a new product and choose Playmaker the B&O app says to go to wireless settings and choose the wireless network with Playmaker in it’s name. If I do that and go back to the app I still get the same message. I can see this is also the case for Beolit 12 which I belive is based on the same platform. So I guees the app is not fully updated for setup of these products anymore. Instead of the app I tried to go to the setup webpage mentioned in the manual http://169.254.11.22/ But had no luck getting there. I tried with an IP scanner on my phone to find the correct IP and it turns out it was http://192.168.1.1 (I am not sure why this is not as mentioned in the manual, but maybe a difference between MK1 and MK2 or something that has changed with an software update.) from the setuppage I could setup the Playmaker to use my wireless network and it is now active again. hope this is helpfull for setup of a playmaker
