After moving speakers around and trying various combinations of speakers I have, I have settled on either my current 4000s as rears with Theatre and front 28s, or upgrading the 4000s to 8s.
Would there be a noticeable improvement?

8’s any time!
I like the 4000’s very much, still I would like to change mine to 8’s.
This said - much depends on the placement and on the listening habits/need for speakers as surrounds.
