WiSA vs Digital Powerlink

I have a Theatre with 28s in the front and 9s in the rear.  I am thinking of replacing the 9s with 8s. I see the 8s, just as the 28s, can be connected by both WiSA and digital power link. Is one preferred over the other?  Do they function any differently in every day use once connected and set up? Thanks!
What I understand: If Wisa connected, you should still be able to use the BL8 independably from the Theatre (when the Theatre is not playing something). If they are DPL connected this is not possible anymore. So it all depend how you want to use your setup.
Thank you.  As the 8s would be rears, I have no need or desire to use them separately. Just thinking of replacing the rear 9s with 8s to get the added height the 8s provide on the floor stands, get rid of the wiring for Receivers with 9s, and get a more cohesive sound with everything being Mozart, as well as everything visually matching.
Why not keep the 9's as is and add the 8's as heights/WiSA.....I am sure, you won't regret that. MM
