Beomaster 5500 / 6500 Remotes ( MCP )

Can a 6500 MCP remote work on a Beomaster 5500 ? I've seen some posts say stick to the proper model. Any information is greatly appreciated. Stephen ( Graydon )

I've had BM5000 and BM5500 BM5000 can only be controlled with MCP5000 or terminal 5000. BM5500 was the first in that line-up which can be controlled with Beolink 1000, 5000, Beo4 etc. Since BM6500 can be controlled with those remotes as well I see no reason why MCP5500/6500 shouldn't be interchangeable. However... there might be some Beomaster specific stuff that won't work... timer function or similar. But generic functions shouldn't be any issue.
Thank You for the response regarding the MCP for the Beomaster 5500. It did help in finding out before I bid on a unit. ( I got out bid ) I'll keep looking for the proper MCP or a 6500 MCP . I do have the Beolink 1000, but I wanted to control the loudness switch on the Amp. Yes other aspects as well are better with the MCP. Your help has been greatly appreciated. Stephen ( Graydon )
