Help Needed: Beogram 1900 Arm Not Moving Side to Side

Hello everyone,

I’m new here and hoping someone can help me. I recently received a Beogram 1900 turntable from my grandfather as a gift. Sadly, he is no longer with us, so I would really like to get his record player working again.

The problem is that the tonearm no longer moves from left to right, although it still moves up and down. I was told that something inside had come loose. When I opened it up, it was clear that a connection is loose but not broken (see the photos I’ve attached).

It looks like the small ring under the large gear should fit into the slot, but I’m not entirely sure. Can anyone confirm this or tell me how to fix it?

Also, if anyone has maintenance tips for the Beogram 1900—things I should check or service while I have it open—I would really appreciate the advice.

Thanks in advance for any help!

The wire goes under the cam wheel. Its head slides under the metal plate found under the platter.

With some fiddling, I succeeded. Thank you very much!😁
