I second Tignum advice, It would be easier and more efficient to recloth an "anycolor" pair. It will cost the money for a pair a pantyhose and a double side tape, plus a couple of hours of work: the procedure is very well detailled in the BWII (or I) forum. Obvisously any original cloth will be transparent and ugly by now, just look at the fabric on silver Beovision Avant. That would mean you need to recloth it anyway.

One more thought Louis, if you end up redoing the frets: when applying new white fabric to a black plastic frame, the black might show through. Perhaps then primer/paint the frames white first. This is the fabric I used (in black though) to refresh my 8000s
